Common questions
How do I pull one page out of a PDF?
Split the document and click the thumbnail you want — only that page downloads. You do not have to use “Download all”.
Which resolution should I choose?
72 DPI for previews, 150 for screens and the web, 300 if the page is going to print or be enlarged. An A4 page at 150 DPI gives a 1240 × 1754 picture; at 300 it is four times heavier.
How many pages can I split?
Up to a hundred at a time. The limit is not arbitrary: every page sits in the tab's memory, and three hundred pages at 300 DPI would simply exhaust the browser.
Why did the fonts come out wrong?
We do not fetch fonts or encoding tables from anywhere else: the promise that your file never leaves the browser matters more than the appearance of the odd document with an unusual encoding. Ordinary PDFs render fine.
Does the document go to a server?
No, the PDF is taken apart in your browser. Handy when the document is a passport scan or a contract.
